The European Medical Network (EMN) is an independent educational organisation dedicated to effective, evidence-based Continuing Medical Education (CME) and other health-related programmes using the latest information technology for distance-learning. The CME content is that body of current knowledge and skills generally recognised and accepted by the medical profession. It covers both basic medical sciences as well as the discipline of modern clinical practice.
EMN recognises that the professional responsibility of physicians requires them to undertake continuous learning throughout their careers, appropriate to their individual needs. EMN will provide self-directed physician education within these needs and develop individual learning methods, which will encourage participation such as self-assessment and CME credit points.
EMN will augment and supplement other efficient methods of continuing education with technology-driven methods and services.
EMN, in close - already established - relationship with international medical organisations and societies will obtain recognition and accreditation in the ongoing CME process in Europe and thus achieve the status of a major CME provider to both general practitioners and specialists.
EMN will also aim to promote disease management tools to assist doctors in their day-to-day patient contacts. |
